Floorika has been Brooklyn's neighborhood flooring studio for over a decade — installed in more brownstones, lofts, and family homes than we can comfortably count.

Three kinds of project,
Most of our work falls into three categories. Each carries its own building constraints, material expectations, and procurement protocols. Click through to see how we approach each.
Brooklyn's new residential builds — wide-plank European oak, installed properly.
Park Slope renovations, Williamsburg loft conversions, Cobble Hill new builds. The work is largely engineered European oak in wide-plank, often with herringbone or chevron in entry foyers and dining rooms. We coordinate with the GC from the start so the floor goes in at the right point in the schedule — not at the end when there's no flex left.
- Engineered European oak, wide plank 7″–10″
- Glue-down over concrete or plywood
- Compatible with radiant heat where specified
- Coordination with general contractors and project managers
The wood floors that Brooklyn was built on.
Most Brooklyn brownstones still have their original solid hardwood floors — typically 2¼″ oak, plain-sawn, installed when the buildings went up. Some need refinishing. Some need replacement of damaged boards. Some need a complete floor-up rebuild after a kitchen renovation. We do all three.
- Full sand-and-refinish of original solid hardwood
- Board replacement and spot repair
- Site-finished new installations matching original
- Color matching to existing trim and millwork
Full-service hardwood, from sanding to install.
The studio is not just a showroom — we also operate as a full-service installation and refinishing team for Brooklyn homes. That means one phone call gets you the material selection, the subfloor prep, the installation, the finishing, and the long-term maintenance check-ins.
- New hardwood, vinyl, and laminate installation
- Sanding and refinishing of existing hardwood
- Color changes, screen-and-recoat, spot repair
- Dust-controlled equipment and low-VOC finishes
Quality flooring,
The principles we hold ourselves to — straightforwardly stated. Brooklyn homeowners deserve the same caliber of work that the design trade gets, with the same level of care for the buildings we work in.
Materials that last.
We carry hardwood, vinyl, and laminate from the manufacturers we’d specify in our own homes. No bargain-basement material, no white-label seconds — just floors we know hold up over time.
Installation you can trust.
An experienced in-house installation team that does this work every day — not subcontractors hired for the project. The same people who help you choose the material in the showroom are the people who install it in your home.
Guidance from start to finish.
From the first phone call through the final walk-through, one studio team is responsible for the project. No handoffs, no “that’s not our scope” surprises, no finger-pointing when something needs to be made right.
A material library,
European-sourced wood, pattern installations, performance materials for high-moisture rooms, and our own Private Label program — chosen because we believe in them, and stocked for project timelines that don’t wait for special order.

As featured in LUXE Interiors + Design.
Floorika Fine Hardwood was featured in LUXE Interiors + Design — the magazine of record for luxury residential architecture and design across the country’s most significant markets. The Gold List places the studio alongside the architects, designers, and craftspeople defining New York’s high-end residential landscape.
The issue includes a conversation with the founder on material-led specification, the value of curation over breadth, and the studio’s approach to project-based work in a category dominated by retail showrooms.
The flooring studio your neighbors use.
Most flooring companies treat Brooklyn as a place they pick up jobs. We treat it as the place we live and work.
Floorika opened on 4th Avenue because we wanted the studio to be in the same neighborhoods as our clients — close enough to walk to projects in Park Slope and Cobble Hill, a short drive to anywhere else in the borough. The team knows the building stock and how each one wants to be installed.
We work with homeowners, designers, builders, and renovators across all of Brooklyn — and we treat each project like a referral that has to lead to the next one. That’s the model we’ve operated on for over a decade.
Across Brooklyn — our home borough.
The studio is on 4th Avenue in Park Slope, a short ride from any neighborhood in the borough. We’ve worked in just about all of them, and the team knows the building stock — brownstones, lofts, post-war apartments, new construction — and how each one wants to be installed.
For the Trade.
not a retail showroom.
Floorika works with architects, designers, and developers on the full arc of a flooring project — material selection, technical specification, sourcing, and installation, handled as a single conversation with a single point of contact.
Considerations.
Yes — most of our Brooklyn brownstone work is refinishing. Original solid hardwood from the 1800s and early 1900s typically has plenty of life left in it; a full sand-and-refinish brings it back to better-than-new. Most projects take 4 to 6 days, with the home livable through most of it.
A short conversation, a showroom visit, and a clear path from material to installation.
